.tv Channel Web Presence Guidelines:
Cartoon Galaxy TV will be the CENTER for a network of .tv cartoon channels designed for youth. Create a short, two to five second Flash production that matches the theme of your homepage design. Web properties that will be developed under this site as cartoon channels include:
GoAnywhere.tv
PlanetCartoon.tv
AfternoonCartoon.tv
RubberDucky.tv
HoneyComb.tv
CartoonGalaxy.tv is primarily a navigational site for six channels. Navigational links/logos must be designed for GoAnywhere.tv, PlanetCartoon.tv, AfternoonCartoon.tv, RubberDucky.tv, Medici.tv, and HoneyComb.tv and placed within your overall design.
In addition, the homepages for the six sites must be designed. Each site requires a video screen. The screens should have borders, like a physical tv has, and they should be designed to correspond to the site they are on and the age group indicated. Below are the descriptions:
• GoAnywhere.tv – Is a channel that has cartoons about kids traveling the world and learning about other cultures. In each episode the characters travel to a different country, state, or province, etc. Design a homepage for Go Anywhere TV. It should have an international feel and be kid friendly – aimed at kids 6 to 10 years of age. The video screen should be at least 50% of the homepage. The page should have buttons/links for different episodes.
• PlanetCartoon.tv – Is a channel that has cartoons about the science of planets, Earth, and space. Design a homepage for Planet Cartoon TV, aimed at kids 8 to 12 years of age. The video screen should be at least 50% of the homepage. The page should have buttons/links for different episodes.
• AfternoonCartoon.tv – Is a channel that is interactive, where kids can build their own cartoons on a storyboard and then watch them. The homepage will not have a video screen. The only thing to be designed for Afternoon Cartoon TV is the header/logo.
• RubberDucky.tv – Is a channel with developmental cartoons aimed at the youngest Cartoon Galaxy TV viewers, ages 2 to 5. The characters are a group of (rubber) ducks. Design a very simple homepage, where the screen is 50% and the buttons for shows are big.
• HoneyComb.tv – Is a site for 6 to 10 year olds, showing cartoons about Nature and animals. Design the homepage, the video screen should be 50% of the page, and the page should have buttons/links for episodes.
At the bottom of each page there must be two small links to: Terms of Use and Site Map
The design of seven homepages is a requirement for this competition. Each of those seven sites will be judged as a separate competition, meaning that anywhere from 1 to 7 entrants will win this design competition.
